A full year has flown by since I joined Temporis, and not only has the company expanded by another two people since I started, I have also been promoted to Resourcing Consultant.
A significant development, and I’m continually enjoying working here. My role has changed since I’ve last given an update on my progress, from originally a Resourcer to now taking on consultancy responsibilities.
I now focus solely on permanent recruitment, and I work alongside Viki who joined at the beginning of this year developing our permanent presence in the market. And it has to be said – business is booming! With our second birthday celebrated last week, it is great to be a part of such a successful team.
As part of my new role, I am developing my recruitment skills further and adapting to my new responsibilities as Resourcing Consultant. My new duties involve working on my own job vacancies from initial client contact with taking job specifications, sourcing suitable candidates for the role who fit the criteria, formatting their CV’s and sending across to the client, as well as arranging interviews and hopefully placing the successful candidate in the role.
The main new aspect to my new role is dealing with the client side of recruitment, as well as the candidate side which I have now become very familiar with. What may have felt daunting to begin with, is now becoming more familiar. As my team-mates always tell me – clients are people at the end of the day!
It has been great to be able to take control of my own jobs, and be able to see the recruitment process through from initial stages to completion. I still have a lot more to learn, but with the support of my colleagues I hope to be flying soon!
I can hand on heart say I never would of thought I’d be where I am today, and I look forward to the next few months (albeit tough training!) to become more confident as a consultant and carry on assisting clients and candidates in the best way I can.
The main reason why I chose recruitment is because of how much I enjoy being honest and helping people, and I hope to use these qualities in my work as a consultant.
