Do you agree with the saying “it doesn’t cost anything to be kind?”
Based on Recruitment.

Depends whether you are talking financially or not. Financially the statement is true in a way as it is correct it doesn’t cost anything to be kind but…it doesn’t cost anything to be unkind either!
However it does cost someone their feelings and mental state.
Everybody has one of those days or even weeks or months where things don’t seem to be going their way, but kindness doesn’t hurt or take much effort. You never know how someone is feeling deep down just because they have painted a smile on their face.

Recruitment can be seen in a lot of different ways good and bad just like anything can, but words can hurt!
All we want as recruiters is to assist our clients and candidates and build up our relationship with them. However sometimes not everything can go to plan, which could be no fault of anyone and is extremely frustrating. Unfortunately some seem to forget that and I think it is the right time to use the phrase “don’t shoot the messenger”
Would you want your child, parent, friend, husband, wife, etc. coming home to tell you that they have been belittled and spoken down to?
Recruitment can be extremely rewarding when you find your candidate their dream job and find your client their dream candidate as we want to see both parties happy.
At Temporis we pride ourselves on building relationships with both candidates and clients so we know the little stuff, for example our locum candidate may need accommodation that allows pets near the role as they have a French bulldog called Jerry that they wouldn’t want to leave at home. We take this information by spending time getting to know our clients and candidates and this is what sets us apart from our competitors.

Some people don’t have time for an in-depth conversation and we fully appreciate that everyone can be busy however all I would ask is that we be treated in a professional manner. If we are calling at a bad time we would always arrange to call back at a convenient time so as not to rush what we consider to be an important conversation. We never ask irrelevant questions, everything we ask you as a candidate is to assist us in finding the ideal role for you.
At the end of the day we are representing you as a candidate and naturally if we are given the choice of working with someone who is professional, friendly and courteous compared to someone who is unpleasant and comes across as unprofessional our preference would be the professional, friendly and courteous candidate.

Unpleasant calls are few and far between and for every not so nice one we have hundreds of lovely and pleasant phone calls with candidates and clients whom we love to assist and we will do everything we can to find them their dream job/dream candidate. At the end of the day sometimes I think we all need to remember that manners cost nothing.
